A few more photos from Montauk in my fitting Hampton Stripe top from Show Me Your Mumu!

Missing the beach, but thankfully I'll get my fix again starting tomorrow! I'll be in the Caribbean for a few days leaving tomorrow in the AM :) I've only been once with my parents when I was 18 months, so I don't count what I can't remember.

More beach photos with crystal clear water to come!

Barefoot in Montauk

{ootd: Faithfull The Brand romper. Krewe Du Optic sunnies. QuickSilver hat.}

Montauk was my second home for the month of July. The weather is perfect there, although I can't say I have a tan to show for it. The commute is another story...

The train is an experience in itself. Hundreds of people running at a train once the track is called. Not to mention, it's the real life version of the Hunger Games fighting for a seat. If you're part of the majority of people escaping work early and showing up to the train late, you're left standing for 3 hours. Thankfully, friends and drinks will keep you preoccupied - just make sure you don't drink too much that you have to wait in the 30 minute bathroom line.

Now that I've thoroughly convinced you to spend your weekend out east, let me tell you about the greatness that is Montauk. It reminds me of a college town on the beach, except school is in session during the summer. Think of a small fraction of New York City's nightlife in a much smaller town like Santa Cruz. Everyone goes to the same bars, restaurants, and beaches so it's easy to keep unintended tabs on people. Surf Lodge was only a few blocks from our summer house, and seeing one of my favorite bands, St. Lucia, on their patio was one of the highlights of my summer! The Sloppy Tuna on the beach is the ideal sloppy day drinking spot, always playing a great assortment of tunes. And the list continues...I'll mention a few more in future posts to come.

The romper I'm wearing was my go-to outfit. It's a perfect day-to-night piece, and there were plenty of those...who needs a shower when you have beach hair?

Sharing a house for a month in a beautiful beach town with my best friends was truthfully the perfect way to celebrate summer. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my July any other way.

Pastel pink

{Jonathan Simkhai pastel pink two piece & Illesteva sunnies}

A good two piece is a rare find. I found this gem on the Net-a-porter summer sale. It's not too late to head to their site! It just so happened to be a perfect 'fit for the NYC Trunk Club launch party which was a wild success. I'm lucky to work with so many amazing people in an industry I love.

Feeling grateful on this beautiful summer day.

Saturdays in BK

{ootd: Show Me Your Mumu skirt. JCrew denim vest. Elorie white leather shoes. Gucci vintage top.}

Running around Williamsburg with my babe. It's changed astronomically since we started dating 2 1/2 years ago. It's one of the hipest places in NYC. We are in route to a patio party. Summer Saturdays in the city are actually enjoyable as its not quite too hot yet. Counting down the days until we rent a house in Montauk for July!

Spring coats

Spring coats - There is nothing more satisfying after a long winter than finally wearing shorts. It's that 55 degree and sunny temperature that's appropriate for showing a little skin, but a layer is still ample to keep warm in the shaded areas. Spring and fall jackets are one of my favorite items to invest in. Growing up in San Francisco, a light jacket was all I really needed on a cold day.

Thank you to my lovely boy-toy for snapping these on our walk to morning coffee. It was a more than perfect Sunday in this 'fit.

'fit: Illesteva sunnies, Rag & Bone shorts, Splendid tee, Chinese Laundry flats, & vintage Rebecca Moses long coat

'chella vibes

The Coachella Music Festival is an annual tradition for me. It's crazy to think how long I've been going. Having spent my college years in LA, it was a simple drive and a perfect excuse to visit my wonderful grandmother who has lived there since I was a kid. The dessert became one of my favorite getaways, so I make it out there even from NYC. I always stay with her and her boyfriend in La Quinta, and they are gracious hosts. Who could say no to the best breakfast places around Palm Dessert? That's our thing - breakfast, before a long day of gallivanting on the polo fields with my friends from artist to artist!

Can you tell my breakfast outfit from my Coachella one?

'fit 1: Kiini swimsuit, Levi's shorts, Illesteva sunnies, Converse sneakers.

'fit 2: Michael Kors dress, Sam Edelman sandals, DKNY vintage finge jacket (thanks to my moms closet full of treasures), Ray Bans blue lenses.

Sunnies obsessed

Soho - I started my day in my go-to Ray Bans and ended in my new IIlestevas. My newest obsession is their version of the Emmanuel. Logan and I must have tried on every pair in the store, which ended in a funny photograph of both of us wearing our new sunnies the staff takes and puts on the wall of all their customers. I can't wait to sport them at Coachella...I'm counting down the days...

Last minute outfit ideas will be on the blog next...

xx, Lex

The burg

Ever since I started working at Trunk Club, my mom has started to send me a trunk full of clothes every few months. It's adorable to say the least. She's a very clever lady. I especially love when she sends me something of her own, like her beautiful white fur shawl collar cardigan. I love how it pairs perfectly with my tan Oxford jacket.

Spring has sprung

Thank God it's finally spring! Luckily this winter pales in comparison to last winter with regard to the longevity of the cold weather. I couldn't be any happier that it's finally in the 40s-50s here in NYC! I broke out my boyfriend jeans and blazer to celebrate. I'm literally a walking JCrew ad with the exception of my Rag & Bone hat and Louis tote bag.

Dark & Light

The Midtown Mansion, New York - Our office at Trunk Club is in my opinion, one of the most beautiful buildings in NYC. It was built in the 1880's so it has a lot of character. Each room has a different feel, and we've done an amazing job making each room have a unique personality matching one of our many vendors.

Coffee Date

Soho, New York - It's been snowing here for days. Luckily, I have the perfect coat to keep me warm (see my above Canada Goose). Snow days usually mean one of two things: bed days, or coffee dates. On my more motivated days, I'll try to find a new coffee shop. Happy Bones is located in Soho on Broome street and is known for their flat white. I highly recommend making it a priority to stop by if you're ever nearby and in need of a caffeine or donuts fix. I'm a sucker for a good lemon glazed.
